We bought our 'van "sold as seen" Trade price from a local dealer about 6 weeks ago.
When we bought it (as complete novices) The main man said "I'll get together some gear for you to get you started in the agreed price of the van"
We also said "We'd like to use your storage facility too"
"What a nice man " thought my wife.
We went to pick it up and it was all there apart from a Water pump, also promised in the "to get you started "Pack.
We went into the shop and bought leisure battery etc etc Bits bobs .
Second in command said he knew nothing of a water pump but would speak with main Man, and I could pop in on Monday and get it. No Problem.
I also told 2nd in command that we wouldnt be needing their storage facility as I had found a more convenient place to leave it. - No problem at all he says "We have people queuing up for space"
Monday came, I phoned. main man says "No, I wouldnt have promised a pump, that van was sold as seen"
I argued a little and he agreed to get one for Wednesday.
I never went back. Purely as point of principal. (and because it only cost me £30 for a new one anyway)
This morning, 4 weeks on, Main Man phones me and says "I see we re storing your caravan and you haven't paid us for it. I can take a card payment over the phone now if you like"
"No" says I.
"but it s payable in advance"! says he.
"but you havent got my van have you ?"
"It says here we have"
"But it s not there - trust me, Im looking at it now"
"Oh, well I wish you d have told me"
"I wish you d have told me I needed to buy a water pump rather than promising to give me one"
Phone line went very quiet. I'm still not sure if he realises that good customer service and repeat custom is based on first impressions.
We will be upgrading, as we are enjoying our 'van very much, but there are a LOT of caravan dealers round here .

shame, I bought mine as a dealers sold as seen, they still gave me a pump, and a new steady winder.
I will be going back there for bits and bobs as I need them as I thought their service was fantastic, even though it was only a sold as seen van, and not part of their main stock.
the company in question for me was Albion Caravans in Bradford, they were fantastic.
