IIRC, ABI ceased trading in 2001. The Swift Group bought the rights to all the ABI touring marque trade names but AFAICT only use the Ace name within their range.
Hi Gypsydoll, bought a Abi Ace Ambassador 1990 a few months ago and we love it. The inside is like new. Didnt want a new one just yet as my sons are only 3 and 6. Its a shame Abi have ceased trading, they are so well made and set out. We hope to get a good few years out of ours yet!! Vic
Thanks for the encouragent Vic. It`s also good to know we are not the only folks touring round with an `oldie' !
This is our first caravan together (my 1st ever) & we love ours too, thoug small she is well laid out so feels airy & not at all cramped. Can see us getting well hooked on this....
hi,
glad to see another newbee, we own a abi daystar 2 berth(1990) also like new.
have a lot of fun looking at other caravaners faces on
the camp sites when the kids are running amoc round thier £10/1500, caravans with bat&ball in hand.
not ours of course(well behaved).
also if you are unfortunate enough to have a misshap,
thier are plenty of places to get spares.
we to are on are first caravan, also a ABI,and i bet its smaller than yours, its the ABI ADVENTURER and we love it, brought last year. lovely condition and no problems so far, just had it serviced and it got a clean bill of health.going down to cornwall friday cant wait.hope all goes well with yours
We bought an ABI Cricket 1992 2 berth in 2006. Sold it last year and, by sheer chance, found an ABI Cricket 1992 5 berth - the Cricket was a limited edition in 1992. Both vans in superb condition, bone dry and definitely not showing their age!
Nothing wrong with having an 'old' van. We often have the oldest van at rallies and on CLs but it does'nt bother us, we think our van is great.

Enjoy your 'golden oldie'!
Jazzycats.
couldnt agree more, we had a conway countryman 2001 which we loved but just got fed up with the setting up and trying to get it down when it was dry, sold it on preloved and got enough to buy are 2001 adventurer which we also got though preloved, best thing we have done, we looked at new small vans but so expensive, glad we didnt get tempted
I too have an oldie - a 1991 Starlet 12/2 - my first van and I love it. Cant wait until the end of the month when there's a crowd of us away for long weekend.
My friend has an ABI Quartz. She is on holiday in it at the moment so I can't tell you how old it is, but I know its a 5 berth and its nice, with no damp!

That`s a real cutie ! (just looked at your gallery) ours looks quite like it. Reckon our `vintage' girls have a lot more character than the youngsters - i like to think of myself the same way.... !!!
It was a sad day indeed when ABI ceased to manufacture tourers. We had a 93 Ace Harmony for a number of years, photos on the ABI Owners web site, would have loved another when the time came to update. Replaced it with a Bailey which is lovely but somehow doesn't seem to have the same character............Mick
