Have just changed caravan to a Bailey Senator Vermont, has anyone fitted a Isabella Magnum porch awning to a Vermont as we are thinking of buying one or maybe the Ventura Marlin. The Minor is a little too small for what we want but the Magnum is quite a lot bigger and not sure if it is too big for the size of our caravan.
Marilyn,
I cant answer your question as we don't have your van but we can give you the info to check the fit yourself.
Height wise the Magnum will fit; its designed for a drop of 240cm plus or minus 10 cm which covers all modern vans. At 240 or more the drop is vertical, less than 240 you will have a slight outward slope from the top to use up the fabric but not much at all.
The issue will be where it fits along the van.
It is 340cm between the drops and its highly undesirable for a drop to be across a "clear glass" window. Not only has this aesthetic effects from both inside and outside the van it will in time cause an amount of fretting on the soft plastic window from air borne grit and wind movement.
Not quite as much a problem with opaque windows as the same fretting is not really a problem.
So you need to determine where the front drop will be placed and see if you can live with the rear drops inevitable position 340 cm aft of the front drop.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. We have measured the area it would cover, which is from front just slightly on bend and completely covers window and to rear, again just on the bend. Not sure if this will work, as it is nearly as big as full awning so we may be better to go that way

You would need it to be on a completely level part of the roof to do the job properly, if it is slightly curved it causes problems. Also if the porch almost covers the full side of the van you would be much beter off with a full awning, they ft so much better to the side of the van and keep out the drafts much better, a large porch is only worthwhile if it allows you to see out of the windows where you sit.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Hi, we have a magnum and as we just bought a challenger 570, like you, we wanted to know if it would fit. We bought the van from White Arches and their helpful staff measured the van to see if it would fit. As they sell Baileys, you could always phone them and ask them to measure for you. They can say yay or nay, but if they do, you'll know for sure. Jan
