Meanwhile back in Ireland, just got back after 6wks over there. The sites are around 20 to 25 euros. The food is more, but, if you buy local stuff it is better, just check its done in Ireland. We found its on a par with here pricewise as most of it has gone up here as well including the sites. Diesel was from 99cents litre upwards depending were you filled up. Good site between Wicklow and Arcklow is at Redcross, right by the mountains, and if you get there for a wed you get entertainment in the on site pub (Diddly Diddly!) We travelled all down that side, didnt like Belfast (toobusy and a bit rough) Camac site at Clondalkin for Dublin is good and the bus service is as well, be carefull on the M50 round dublin, you have to pay a 3euro toll, but you can pay this at any garage if you miss a booth or the phone No.......Ireland is wonderfull, and if you join in with the locals (they love to talk to you) you will enjoy every min
Just back from eire last weekend - diesel prices 1.01 euro litre, petrol 1.11 litre. so cheaper when taking exchange rate into account than where we live - didn't really notice that much difference in other prices but then where we live is expensive compared to Uk anyway!!
Thanks for all the advice - we cross over to Ireland on Wednesday. We have started to pack the van with all the essentials. We have booked many of the sites you have advised in this thread - so thank you all. Phantomtrucker we have just made a booking at Redcross too.
When we were in Ireland years ago, we were told to buy bottled water for our dogs, as one of them was quite poorly, and apparantly it was the water, so ever since they have drunk bottled, and no probs. Just thought I,d mention it. Penny
