I bought some of that plastic matting (from Homebase £9.99 a roll, bought 2 rolls) with the plastic 'spikes' underneath which stops it from moving about. The matting runs the length of our van (no cutting to fit required) and another piece across the back (just some minor fitting) so it's a T shape, if you understand what I mean. It can be swept easily when you're out in the van and, when we get back home, comes out easily so we can hoover - yes, we do like to do this and keep the van clean!
We have 3 dogs and I fitted this matting at the beginning of this season and it has made a huge difference. It certainly works for us.
