i just got back from van which is on season pitch, unpluged electric from outside i always turn inside switch to neutral and open fridge door, but got home and remembered that i did not turn inside switch to neutral will the van battery be flat and will there be any damage to the frigde with door left open i dont know if the fridge is working off battery or not it is too far to go back down today. if your caravan is newish there is a feed from the battery on a permanent basis,this feeds your electronics on the fridge but does not operate the fridge cooling.if left on the battery could go flat sooner rather than later.

With the door open the fridge light would be on so the battery will eventually become flat.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
