hi, had nearly full leisure battery when i left for campsite, got there 1hr30mins later.I hooked up to the mains and had sockets and fridge come on. water pump and interior lights worked fine for 10-15 mins. then started dying and then died. the mains would not charge the leisure battery  when switch was on any of these settings.......car/off/caravan........would appreciate some help..... ideas or cheap ways of bypassing i.e battery charger for leisure battery.it was my 1st time caravanning but didnt put me off, i loved it, but would like to get it sorted for next time,thanx.

the fridge is 230volt on EHU or gas.only runs on 12volt when the car is towing at a high revs.sounds like a faulty charger or a faulty battery that cannot take charge.ie flat.buy a battery tester £6 battery should read 12.7 volts on a full charge.the caravan charger will only charge to a max of 13.5 volts.check for a 10 amp /red fuse next to the charger and any other fuses.

thanks for your reply.......the battery indicates green which says it is good albeit now flat, and had someone check fuses which he said seemed ok.

|If you need to bypass on board charger.....use a good battery charger, plug it into one of your 13amp sockets, then connect it to your battery (having of course disconnected the on board charger).

Is your Sprite a new van?

There is a known problem with the charger in the new Sprites.
