Hi guys, i have been offered by my brother in law a Fleetwood Colchester 1850 caravan,1994, 5 berth. It would be ideal for us and is very well equipped.

The plate on the van is a bit worn, so...

Could someone please explain the weight. I think it has a laden weight of 1600kg but there is also another number in KG on there of 425. I think it is headed C.A.P. Does that sound familiar to anyone? I would like to know what the unladen weight is ideally.

Many thanks.

well for the 1997 colchester 1850 the weights were unladen 1144kg, max 1475kg load allowance 295 kg

now i am not well clued up on the colchester but fleetwood didnt change the garland between 94 and 97 apart from interior kit

if you need any bits of the 97 garland/colchester manual drop me a e-mail as i laboriously scanned all them in and now have them as jpeg files

The manual would be fantastic, many thanks.

I suppose it is concievable that as an older van its weight is a little heavier. Trouble is, my laguna estate has a kerbweight of 1525kg and the manual says a max tow weight of 1500kg. I would probably have to invest in another vehicle. This is one reason why i need to find out the unladen.
