After 3 successive Swift Group products and ten happy years with a Bailey prior to that we are now looking to change to a 2010 Lunar.
How have owners of recent (say 2006 on) Lunars found them?
We have looked hard at 2009 Lunars (and in fact orderd one but that is a long story!), and have found the build quality to be fine, however we have read a few horror stories so would like some reassurance.

Only a couple of small problems with ours, very pleased with it, everything feels very solid. Think there's been a shake up at our local dealers, seem much more on the ball! For being a lightweight van I think the finish on it is superb, it doesn't feel as if anything has been scrimped on to get the weight down. We looked at lots of makes before we bought the Quasar and are pleased with our choice. Hopefully we'll still be pleased a few years down the line. I think the most annoying thing on our van was that in the washroom the hot/cold indicator was on the wrong way round - thought for the first night the hot water wasn't working! Silly error but the hot water is v hot and could of been a nasty accident.
I know ours is an older lunar, but eighteen years on the fixtures and fittings are holding up well just had to re-seal one side window .Really like the look of the new Lexon and fixed bed Clubman .As far as horror stories I think every British make is subject to stories of shoddy build and poor fixtures and fittings,I think getting a good dealer who cares about there customers is important .
Ours is a 2004 and still looks like quality even thoug we lived in it for over 2 years and now sue it every weekend. Bonus is that it si a 640 with an island bed and a L shape lounge.
We have had a Lunar Ariva 2006 for 8 months and taken it out 4 times. We find it very spacious, nice quality finish and good to tow. Light enough to manhandle into position. Pleased we bought it.
We love our Lunar Lexon 575EB. Its a 2008 model and was new. The only problem we have had is the strip that covers the ceiling joins coming off but they have been replaced under warranty and we have noted that they have changed it in the new vans.
on to our second lexon ew the one we have now is 18month old had it from new and i intend keeping it for years the best van we have had to date no problems my 5th van but second lexon highly recomend them
------------- laugh and the world laughs with you fart and you stand alone
We ordered a Quasar 544 yesterday. (360 tour available on Lunar's website).
Dealer (Overland) was excellent and was happy to accomodate the following extras (i'm known for being picky!):
Alko ATC, Alko shock absorbers, Omnivent (new clear style), TV aerial socket in battery locker for sites with TV hook up, Tyron bands, changing our mover over and fitting new rollers and changing the cocktail cabinet into a useable locker!
Really happy with the deal ... just waiting to see when we will get it.

Sorry to be the black sheep, but we have a 2007 Solaris 3, we bought it new, We love lay out, island bed, but our first job on any site we arrive at, is to put the shower door back on it comes off every time you move the van, while in Scotland this Easter the shower tray split, Lunar have still not authorised the repair 5 months on, not very impressed, Having said that, we have had 2 new Abbey vans as well and have had problems with them also, sad to say but our next van will not be British, so sad. But hey! best of luck with yours
i have a 2002 astara 524 and absolutely love it. have had no problems at all with it (except the status aerial is garbage unless you pitch under a transmitter!!-why do they put them on?). If i were to trade up i would definately have another lunar. The guy next door to me has a lunar motorhome and he reckons its the dogs wotsits.

------------- just cos you got the power, that don`t mean you got the right...
Just had ours a few months now and generally very pleased with it, a few broken catches from the previous owner, which have now been replaced by the dealer, and as posted above, some problems with the internal jointing strip peeling off for which it has gone back to the supplier for repair last week, and not returned yet, but were confident of a good neat replacement job being done and having it returned at the weekend as good as new.
