So we bought our 1st van. A Ranger 550/6. It came with a brand new porch awning but over the winter period we will buy a full awning. Not understanding this subject much I'm after advice on:
Good makes/models
Features
Time to buy (should I wait for a 'January sale')
Anything else that might be of interest to me!
Thanks for you help/opinions!

If you want the best buy Isabella, if they are a little too expensive have a look on Ebay or other places for a secondhand Isabella, the next choice would be a Ventura awning which is made by a subsidiary company of isabella using the same materials and the same designs.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Take a walk round a site while they're still busy & have a look at the vast choice out there for you.
We've just changed our van & had to replace the awning due to it being a very different size. While we'd have loved a new Isabella I'm afraid they're simply too pricey for us. We've bought another new Dorema Senator Lux with the fibre frame, extra storm poles & two tall annexes. It's a lovely awning & I'm pleased with it.
An awning we considered but hadn't seen was the Bradcot Active. Would you believe a family pitched right behind us with a new one along with tall annexes the same configuration as us & it too is a lovely awning.
We spent a bit of time going to a couple of dealers after awnings were suggested on here to see what was there for the money & I have to say I wouldn't bother with some, like everything else in life, it's down to personal choice & affordability at the end of the day.
We had a Dorema for several years but now have a Suncamp 260 which we much prefer. It's 8' square and they also do a 12' x 8'. Much cheaper and easier/quicker to put up. They do bedrooms in them as well, however I think if someone will sleep in it a full size awning would be more suitable.
If budget is not too much of a restriction you should try to get an awning with acrylic walls, carbon poles, and sufficient ventilation panels.
If lucky you can get a last season new boxed clearance awning saving a bundle like we did.
Thanks, price is not a concern but weight and ease of putting up will be!
