Hiya,

in ours ita easier to say what i add when we go away!

ours is in storage most of the time, fully loaded and ready to roll. On a trip away I take:

clothes/shoes/coats for all

medications

fresh foods ie fridge contents/bread

the linens which went home to wash from last trip away.

ours is fully loaded as we dont have anywhere to store stuff at home, even the extra linens give me a headache finding somewhere to put em.

we have the "fun" in 3 weeks time of emptying the va as its going in for a rebuild and must be emptied of all personal belongings.

Is there a difference between disconnecting the gas bottle or leaving it connected and closed? I can't see a difference but then maybe it is becasue I am missing something?

Interesting points. I transport my gas bottles home in the car and store them in a locked (ventilated) shed. As far as I'm aware, that's not illegal - can anyone state otherwise? When transporting the gas canister, I ensure it's upright and secured using bungie ropes.

As for the leisure batteries, I'm not sure what the reasoning is there - other than that a connected battery is more likely to result in an electrical fire than an unconnected one, I guess, if there is a fault with the electrical system. I don't think it's a particularly big danger in either case.

Maybe it's more a case that the signs are up, and so the storage yard has exercised its "duty of care". I've no idea how many other van owners who use the site actually take any notice - it's not as if these things are ever checked or monitored. I'm a good boy and do what the signs say!
