Hi all

I live in Southampton and have yet to find a magical caravan shop that sells lots of accessory's like the popper tape I am after and also the fly screen that goes over the inside's of the vents as we need a new one of them. We are close to a tow sure but they do not do them. The only place we have seen do the fly screeens are in a shop in Cornwall to which we are not going back to till next year.

thanks

Em

How about www.caravanstuff4u.co.uk or www.leisureshopdirect.co.uk both keep loads of stuff for caravan and camping, and delivered to your door! Hope this helps.

Hi, you can get the popper tape (visa tape) from a caravan breakers that are in Gosport, M. Glanville, he normally stocks it but it was no cheaper here than getting it online.  Chichester Caravans at Winchester have a selection of different sizes of flyscreens (the ones that are a replacement for MPK type skylight/roof vent) but again i think they were cheaper to buy online.  When i needed these items i bought from leisureshopdirect, and they delivered them very quickly.

I also buy stuff on line - but somehow it's not quite the same as 'browsing' around the accessories, and then seeing that 'must have' item that you don't know how you ever did without!

Hi Em,

I totally agree with you.   I live inbetween Southampton and Portsmouth and you are right there is nothing.  The best one used to be Hants and Dorset until that was taken over by Discover and subsequently closed.  Perhaps we should open one?

That sounds a fab idea - we live just down the road from the old Hants and Dorset - it was so handy to pop up to for odd things we needed. It looks so sad just sitting there empty every time I drive past.

I can only think of Dolphin Leisure at 63 Old Milton Road, New Milton, Tel 01425 621191.

After that the next big caravan place that I can think of is called The Caravan Company on the Main A31 Dorchester Road, Wimborne BH21 3HA going west. Tel: 01202 888 601.

There's also Avonbridge, Unit 5, Sandleheath Industrial Estate, Old Brickyard Road, Sandleheath, Fordingbridge, SP6 1PA. Tel: 01425 838586.

None of these are that far from Southampton that they wouldn't make a nice ride out one day.

Probably Avonbridge is the most technically competant of the three.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Vic

It's the tape which they use for the top of caravan curtains which has moulded 'bobbles' in it, and the bobbles fit into the lightweight curtain rails used in caravans and act as 'runners'.
