With an Ultima-type awning, the poles won't touch the windows, even if the awning finishes right in the middle of the window. The poles fit into pockets along the awning-rail, and there are poles across the roof. It won't damage your window - you just won't be able to open it.
As for erecting - the 390 and 260 are the same construction - you just have an extra 'section' on the 390, so one more flexi-pole to fit, longer roof poles and more pegs and guy-ropes.
