Hi there to you all. We have the 570 model. 2009, and we also have an Avtex tv. It does fit and you can swivel it round. The sound and picture quality are very good. It does have the satellite connection. Overall, completely satisfied with the whole caravan. Jan
We have a dealer special Charisma 550 and I have fitted a UMC 15" flat screen dvd combo tv that came from Currys for the bargain price of £170 I think, about 18 months ago.
It does swivel for veiwing whilst in bed and, whilst we haven't actually tried it yet both of us feel that it will be perfectly usable from both the bed and lounge.
Swift have now fitted 2 metal catches to secure the frame in postion and it was stiff to drop to start but in fairness now the TV is in place it seems spot on, just needing a gentle pull to lower it down.
The only concern I have is to how long it will be before I manage to catch the plastic arm that rotates the blind and break that when putting the TV away.

and another thing ....
we forgot to notice whether the TV stations in the 2010 Swift Group range of vans have a Satellite aerial socket (like our 2007 Challenger does) or not?
From the brochures, it seems that the higher spec vans have them, but mention of it in the Europa 550 brochure, or the dealer special flyer that we have for the 'Coastline 550'. I guess, therefore, that they don't have them.
I have not found one in the 6 months we have had the Van! We just put the cable through the window and it completely closes over the cable. In my previous van, a Topaz, we had a TV connection in the battery box. I was able to install a satellite connection in the front wet locker, can't do that on this van.
On the 570 there is a sat link in the battery box for the lead to go in. If you want to have your tv on the front locker there is also a tv socket and a plug n 12 volt socket there. We always take our satellite with us and it has always worked perfectly. The wires are stored away in the cupboard next to the door. So the only wire we have is from the sky box as that sits on the sideboard under the tv. Jan

Hi Disco Diva. The thing is that these features are only included on the higher spec vans, as I mentioned. So Challengers will have the lot - which is what we are used to, having got a Challenger at the mo.
I was trying to check out what 2010 dealer special editions which are based on either the Charisma or the Europa, would have. You really have to study the spec of all the ranges to notice what the lesser vans don't have! Even though the specials have extras above the Charisma\Europa specs, they still lack some other features - as you would expect really.
So far, I have reckoned that the dealer specials have no satellite connection, no FM radio aerial, no LED light over the door, fewer lights - e.g over the bathroom mirror, no pleated blinds over the Heki rooflight. No mini-Heki over the fixed bed (just a clear standard rooflight) and only 3 sockets instead of 5. No wardrobe light, no lock-down handles on most of the aircraft style lockers, no extra-wide doorway. I'm still counting, but there are quite a lot of subtle differences in features.

We have the Challenger 570 with the drop down TV cabinet and like David think it is a great idea. We have had no problems with the cabinet itself and use a 19" Samsung TV. It must be a different model to Davids though as we can swivel it round to watch it in bed. The max size we were given is 70mm (D) x 336mm (H) x 390mm (W) We then spent many an hour wandering round TV shops, tape measure in hand, as we tried to find a suitable set. We found that TV dimensions vary greatly, some 15" TVs are bigger than the 19" ones. In the end, after returning to the van and re-measuring the cabinet we realised that the width given was a bit on the small side and found that we could just squeeze in a TV width of 450mm. Very pleased with the picture and sound quality and have no problems watching from the lounge or the bed.
We have just purchased a 2015 Stirling Eccles which has a TV bracket that was fitted by swift when new. When we tried to buy the swing arm that fits this bracket I was told by swift that the manufacturer who supplied them had ceased trading so I am left feeling very frustrated as although I love our new van there is know where practical to site the TV. Any suggestions gratefully received
Hi
We purchased a 2011 Swift Charisma 545 this model has the drop down cabinet for the TV when we fitted our 17" tv in the cabinet we found it was too far away for comfortable viewing in the lounge & when we turned it to view from centre dinette/ bed the cables were in way, decided not to use the drop down cabinet & purchased a 26" TV
