Looking  for advice, we are giving up our old Adria Tourer this year and looking to buy a new caravan, the above caravans are within our price range and both kinda the same.

So anyone advise please.

Have you considered the new sprite range. We were really suprised at the comfort and quality and thought it was better value for money. We considered all 3 of these ranges and went for the Sprite in the end.

Having compared an Elddis and a Bailey at the NEC last year. I found it difficult to choose between them. The Elddis has shocks which the Bailey does not, whereal the Bailey we looked at had ATC as standard. That had me edging towards the Bailey as I would prefer an active system to a passive system like the shock absorbers. Not withstanding that, I would have gone for the Elddis shock absorbers had the Bailey not had the ATC.

Then I looked closely inside... The Elddis won hands down over the Bailey when you look at the small details. I then went and crunched some numbers and decided to keep our old van a bit longer.

If finances were a bit better then I would go for either the Bailey Pegasus (if available in the layout you want) as they look better finished than the rest of the Bailey range but the Elddis won hands down over anything Bailey could come up with in terms of comfort. I get really put off by things like screw heads and staples showing on the Baileys. If they couldn't bother to cover a scre head up that you can see, what corners have they cut that you can't see? I know it's nit picking, but when you are spending that much money and the two vans are closely matched, you are within your rights to be nit picking.

You could also consider the other sister vans in the Swift group.

When we were looking for our second hand caravan last year we found the quality of the finish, number of plug sockets and little extras like lift up or pull out work surfaces much better in the Elddis than in the Bailey or Swift vans. Have no regrets at all about buying the Elddis.

I would go for the Bailey. There is discussion on the CT forum re a big problem with the Xplore. Suggest you read it.

The GT60 has shock absorbers fitted, the Pagent has them and the ATC system as well. At the NEC show they are releasing the Olympus that will be of a similar spec to the Pagent - don't know how much they will be yet though.

At our local dealer they are selling the in stock Rangers and Ranger GT60s. there is a notice in the window of each saying 'Last chance to buy a classic construction caravan'.

This says to me that, very soon, they are either going to bring out a replacement for the Rangers or just drop them to concentrate on Olympus & Pegasus. The latter is a strong possibility bearing in mind the width of an Olympus is the same as the Rangers, not Pageants.

You may get a bargain now or wait a while and see what they do, then choose.

As for the future, the Bailey Alu-tech (Olympus & Pegasus) will either hold their value incredibly well and be very sought after second hand due to limited numbers or drop like a stone if serious problems are found. But what will happen to second hand values for classic construction from Bailey or any other manufacturer, I don't know.
