This clever little gadget has caught my eye....
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.riverswayleisure.com/acatalog/108181.html
Anyone used one? Are they as good as I think they look? Or am I just a bit naive and esily swayed?

It looks a good bit of kit but there could be an issue with nose weight with 3 bikes.

3 bikes alone would take up all the noseweight allowance. Surely this can't work.

Fiamma do a nice one but when I looked into it carrying my two bikes would add 33 kg to my hitch load [ bikes, rack and security]. The car could laugh this off but the Alko hitch limited to 100kgs certainly could not. I did not like to lose that from my payload either.
Also watch the limitations on angle whilst reversing in particular, and consider implications of hinging the bikes out of the way to access the front locker to switch your gas on and off etc.

These seem popular on the continent, usually seen on larger caravans & often 'balanced up' with rear mounted bike carriers. German caravans tend to have longer A frames & the A frames are usually uncovered which makes the bike rack an easy fit. In suppose if you load weight at the back it should balance things out.

Hmmmm.....
Looks like I was right, then. When things look too good to be true....they usually are!
*still hankering after utterly impractical and therefore useless bike carrier*
