As anyone got any experience of buying from this dealer.

Also would you buy a van from a dealer far away or one closer to home.

I have been told that you can take a Bailey van to any Bailey dealer for Warranty work.

Personally I would prefer to buy from one close to home. Bailey warranty says 'contact the selling dealer for all warranty claims', Bear in mind that your contract is with the selling dealer. Having said that, our local Bailey dealer advertiser that they do warranty work for vans bought elsewhere. I would want to clarify the procedure first and get written agreement from all concerned.

Warranty work is one thing. The other is, as the earlier poster has said, your contract is with the person you bought from. Thus if there is anything you need to go back on in relation to Sale of Goods or other Consumer legilstaion protection that is not warranty work you have to go back to the seller. Someone was on here recently saying that they had a 200 mile round trip back to their seller

While it should be possible to get your warranty and servicing done at any Bailey dealer the reality tends to be that the dealers put their own customers first and you will get fobbed off with all sort of excuses. Bearing in mind that having your caravan serviced by a recognised dealer within X weeks of its anniversary is a warranty condition it may be better to purchase closer to home.

We bought through them - do a search on here as there's a thread or 2 about them already.

Not sure how they deal with issues, but if you can wait til next week I'll let you know as our toilet flush tank has just started leaking so they'll be getting a call from me on Monday!

They are the nearest dealer to us and did a price match from a dealer much further away. I'm sure most other dealers would do the same if asked directly so can't really see a reason for using a dealer too far from where the van will ultimately be.

We bought our caravan from them 18 months and can't fault their service.  We got a really good deal and their after sales service has been brilliant.

Luckily for us we don't live too far away from them but we had a friend who was going to travel down from near Blackpool to buy from them as they were giving some of the best deals around last year.

I'm sure you'd all expect that you couldn't take your Ford car to the nearest Ford dealer when you had a problem? With most makes of car the advice of the manufacturer is to take your car to the nearest dealer if there is a problem so why should caravans be any different?

If its warranty work it is the same amount of work whichever dealer does it and they will be using parts provided by the manufacturer in order to complete the work.

I don't see for any practical purpose why Bailey would care which of their dealers they supply the part to in order to repair your van.

Just a thought

D

Thank you for your reply's.

I think the local dealer is the best option.

Thankyou
