We have a 1988 swift challenger which is our fiirst caravan. We don't have an awning and I have no experience at all with using one or putting one up or anything.
We like the look of the suncamp 390 ultima (and the price) and so we measured our awning rail yesterday. The width of the 390 is obviousley 390cm and our awning rail along the top is 387cm, just 3cm short.
I have noticed on the full awnings that they have a bit of difference in size so my question is do you think it will fit or am I best avoiding it altogether??

So does your awning rail then stat to curve after 387cm? If so I would have thought you could piinch 3 cm off the curve. Or you could go for the 260 which we always found was big enough.
Steve is right, as long as you are not coming down too much past the curve, the universal height fit of the Ultima will accommodate the difference.
We have just swapped the Ultima 260 for a 390 awning, and just manage (with a bit of tweaking) get it so all windows open either inside or outside the awning. We are also at the very limit of the straight section of out awning rail.

Our sunncamp didn't leak and it was a lot easier to put up. The gaps were no bigger than on the porch awning we have now.
I think the sunncamp and similar lightweights are very good value.
Ideally the 390cm length needs to be straight, then it will pitch nice and square and the rain wil have a better chance of running off without forming a pool. If water has a slight hollow to collect in, it will turn into a swimming pool size in no time. Try & make sure the sides don't cross a window or door. It will still work if they do but it's better if they don't.
