I am willing to be corrected, but I believe the maximum gross weight must be in excess of 3500Kg.  That means at least 3501Kg, so your van will not do.  You need a small lorry or something similar, and that may involve licence issues as well.

What you need is a vehicle with a kerb Weight above 3500Kg so, as Greendemon says it must be kerbweighted at 3501 +Kg according to the vehicle's specification.

I thought you might know that Phil.  I did think it was Maximum Gross Weight though, not kerb weight.  I'm probably wrong...

Sorry misunderstanding things ....it is the maximum laden weight.....Bit of a Gordon moment there!!!

Department for Transport has updated its website following the change in the law and it reads:-

If the towing vehicle has a permissible gross weight in excess of 3.5 tonnes the maximum width and length of the trailer are 2.55 metres and 12 metres respectively. If however the gross weight of the towing vehicle is 3.5 tonnes or less then the maximum permissible width and length are 2.55 metres and 7 metres respectively. In both cases the overall length of the towing vehicle and trailer must not exceed either 18m or 18.75m depending on the type of towing vehicle.

So best to carry a tape measure and scales!!! (and have gone metric)

Wow......all above my head, getting back on track, that sure is a nice bit of kit you have there farmers wife, very impressive  I too would like a peep inside.

I have just bought a used Swift Corniche twelve foot 2 berth and I tow with a 4.5 RR.

Went to Swanage a few weeks ago (first outing) and really enjoyed it, might look around for something bigger next year if I renew the drive gates to get the thing in

I expect arriving on the back of a lorry might be a problem at sites where they don'y even like Transit vans.
