We picked up our new van yesterday and even though the wheel size is less the tyres are much fatter (14x185 vs 15x175) and our Bull Dog QD would not fit.
No worry I said to Mrs UM...we have the Al-Ko Secure Wheel lock that came with the Challenger, that we never used.
Now, it may be blindingly obvious to some, but I have never thought about the fact that Al-Ko make them specific to each wheel.....and of course the old one doesn't fit!
Can the Lozenge on it's own be bought...mabe Al-Ko should offer a trade in deal!!!
The lozenge is available through the Al-Ko website Mr UM. Chipping Sodbury caravans stock the locks & may well keep the lozenge. As far as I know, they're easy to change. All that's needed is the large circlip removed & the lock slides out of the lozenge.
You do not need to remove the circlip at all. The new Lozenge comes complete ready to receive your old lock. All you do is tell AL-KO your new vans Vin number and the new Lozenge and keys are then registered. I have just been through the process with AL-KO, all done by phone and Lozenge delivered by Mail, all quite painless.

What is the approximate price of the lozenge please?

. Sorry about that Mr UM, I've never changed the Lozenge so I'd assumed the whole lock receiver had to be removed from the new Lozenge & it looked as though the circlip needed removing so to do.
I thought the same too Basil when I examined the lock and saw the circlip until I also read a thread on here about it. I rang AL-KO and they quoted me £71 + postage which all together came to around £90. I assume the price may vary slightly to accommodate the different sizes.

Blimey, that's a cheaper way of getting sorted when anyone changes the van isn't it. Brilliant lock too.
I am surprised they do not advertise it a bit more on their web site, or maybe they don't on purpose! I am also surprised that there are not more Lozenges for sale on E-bay. I myself have a Bailey No6 sitting in my garage doing nothing but taking up space. They now come with a plastic insert to protect your alloy wheels. Now all I have to do is remember to align the wheels before lowering the legs, getting the water, connecting the electricity and putting the kettle on LOL

We have only remembered to do it once before putting the legs down. Now have a notice in the van that says 'Lock First' to remind us.
I am actually thinking of printing one of them "To Do" lists that appear occassionally, I believe there is one on here somewhere, and laminating it and sticking it on the inside of the door. SWMBO thinks I'm daft but as I get older the memory lets me down more regular.
I have sorted the "remembering bit" by putting a thick cable tie on the stabiliser handle. Started with a ribbon but this is more durable.
Now when I go to uncouple I am reminded to check the receiver position and if its not right the car is still connected to be able to shift the van; easy, effective and did not cost much!
