Hi all, this year i'm looking to upgrade from a trailer tent to a caravan. I'm really starting to struggle on which layout to focus on whilst searching, we are looking for a 6 berth caravan to suit 4 adults and 2 children. Problem seems to be that everything i see appears to be aimed at 2 adults and 4 children. Is this the case in all layouts? Our towing vehichle is limited to 1800kg so would like to find something around the 1500kg max weight. Am i narrowing my search too much here? £10k max purchase price.

I would really appreciate any advise or recommendations given.

Thanks in advance

Mike

Something like a Sprite Quattro FB, might suit in layout.

MTPLM is 1570 kg.

Hi

Take a look on here http://www.caravanfinder.co.uk/caravans.html and click on find by layout.  It's a really good tool on working out what will suit you in layout and then give you names to look out for.  Ebay is brilliant at seeing loads of pictures of the 'van you like the look of.

Are the 2 pairs of adults 2 couples?  If it is 2 couples then one couple might like to sleep in the awning in an annex which means all adults get some privacy.

Before you take the plunge, do check things like noseweight and axle loadings, as well as the MTPLM.  Saves making an expensive mistake.

Again the quatttro FB would suit your purpose - fixed double bed in rear, bunks on side and either 2 singles (long ones) or a double at the front. Elldis (626?) is also same layout but a more expensive van.
