hey can anyone help, we are selling a pyramid tuskany awning. 850/875 size. it fitted our abbey 4 berth 16ft van, but recently a friend who said her van needed an awning, which her van is 16ft aswell and the size of awning was the one recommened for her van, but our awning was about 2ft too short, how can this be? maybe our awning is smaller than we think, but it fits our grand and well generous in size.. our van is quite slopped at front but her,s is not, but this have anything to do wit this? oh and to add her van is a SWIFT CHALLENGER..------------- wenz:)

I think shape of van would make a differance. if van is sloped then awning rail follows same shape. Don,t know why it is recommened for her type of van at that size . We bought new awning this year measured it exactly and awning is just barely fitting in fact I thought we were in trouble when I first fitted it .

just measured the beading on awning that threads on caravan and its roughly 735cms.. so wonder what size of awning it is? must be shorter than an 875!!! we measured our caravan round the awning rail and it measured 885cm,s and our awning fitted that, but didnt fit my friends caravan. both 16ft and 4 berth..------------- wenz:)

The awning A-A size is measured to ground level not just the awning rail, that may account for the difference.------------- Tony C

I'm afraid I've misled you , its not just the beading ,but the entire length of then canvas, without the mudflaps that you measure as the beading doesnt go all the way to the edge of the canvas .
Totally confused now . your rail measures 885 and a 850-875 fits it . fits well, generous
your friends rail measures 865 but the same awning is 2ft too short on her van .
but your friend said the canvas WAS touching the ground ?
was it touching the ground with enough spare to peg it down ?
have you just got confused that the beading part , didnt come right down to the edge of her rail?
are there pvc panels that fold in against the van wall to cut the draughts ? try it again , and if the panels , and the bottom skirt cover the gap , it might fit okay .

when it was on ours it was down to ground on both sides no problem, but on bronas it fell short on one side by 5 to 10cms that was the strange thing, all though we were thinking that maybe with abit of work could we get it down bit more, because it just didnt come rite down on the back, bit short near draft skirt rail.. am confused too..ha,ha,------------- wenz:)

My grampian has a body length of about 18' 4" awning size = 900
The front slopes a lot compared to some other vans & sits at 7' 11" tall.
