Just bought a caravan and are off for the first time in it this weekend.. The beer and wine have been bought... we have tequilla for the drinking scrabble (never played it but it sounds like fun)... and the sun will be shining....
Just don't know in which order to put the awning up, before or after the tequilla... decisions decisions...
So if anyones up at Gibraltar Farm this weekend and see a couple of tipsy folk fighting with awning poles in one hand and a drink in the other, it might just be us.. .sorry just re-read that, we won't be literally fighting with awning poles or using them for jousting, unless 'him that must be obeyed' deserves it
the usual cabaret then always good fun to see the newcomers do their bit for the olde stagers they had gtheir turn years ago we certainly did nb don't arrange the poles before sliding the awning through the awning rail we saw one couple do this a few years ago and they could not work it out when I chattted with them to get them out of the mess they turned out to be ex tenters obviously
enjoy yourself and don't be too noisy the neighbours get upset
Start the tequila first, will make it a whole load more fun, Play tequila awning putting upping., Everytime you go to swear, down a shot. You'll be well pished by the time you get to pegging and won;t care what it looks like!
Good luck
------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
I'm beginning to wonder if actually you should have had a few drinks before putting up an awning. Do you think awning instructions might actually make sense if you are drunk cos they certainly don't when sober? Just think of the fun involved in putting up an awning when drunk lol
We've got to put up our brand new awning when we next go away so just might open the beer's and see how easy it is to put up lol
Just remember first trip away is a learning curve and dont expect too much, then you'll have a great time! Print some of the lists off here (setting up etc) and dont be afraid to ask for help from fellow vanners if you need it ... we've all been there and got the tshirt!
