We went to the CC National rally for the bank holiday as its on our doorstep! Did not pay for electric hookup, and the battery lasted fine.

Our Truma gas heater would not light, despite repeated attempts, so a cold invigorating shower was had! (Brr!!!)

Wife heated up some water and had a strip wash in the shower compartment! (wimp!).

Phoned our dealer who suggested a few checks, but no joy. The tech assured me that they do check everything on the pdi, and I have no reason to dispute that! Everything else works superbly.

We have only used it on electric so far, as it was bought in March. Oh well book it in today for fixing!

The National Rally was good, we enjoyed it first time we have been.

What's wrong with you? Cold showers are charecter building... Herrumph, back in my day etc etc.

More Seriously though  when you turn on the switch, do you get a little orange LED showing? Are you getting hot water to any of the taps? You say that this is when you are on "electric" Do you get hot water when on "electric" and not when using gas?

The cover was off the flue, gas on.

Select "light" position, the green light came on accompanied by a click, after a few seconds the red light came on. The tech at the dealer  talked us through it!

We have had the same heater on the last 2 vans which worked fine, so we seem to have a fault.No problems its warranty!

Water is very hot on electric setting, as that is what we normally use.

Yes, cold showers brought back memories of time in the field when in the forces!!!

red light means a gas supply problem ..maybe an isolation tap turned off near the boiler  try that first.. but as you pointed out the cover must be off the flue ...i made that error once ...

Red light tends to mean switch off and wait a few minutes and then try again. Works for us every time. Bit like a computer error...go out and come back in....!!!!

Well its fixed, new circuit board fitted.

Also was a slight smell of gas in the box so they fitted a new connecting pipe from the regulator to the bottle.
