Had a service done this weekend on our three year old Bailey Pageant Burgundy and guess what.......the dreaded damp.

We opted this year to have a mobile engineer to come to our home, as he is caravan council registered we were able to do this and still be within the requirements of the warranty.
One thing I felt sure the caravan would pass on with flying colours was the damp test. I was so disapointed when he told me the readings for one area, we think its coming in on the front seal at the top.

O.H will contact Bailey this week and thank goodness it's under warranty but it's the inconvenience of it all we are away every other weekend until October.

I must say a big thank you to Nick Harrison of Newark Independant Caravan services, he said if we needed help or advice that we could contact him, we would certainly reccommend him to anyone in the Lincolnshire area. (Could have done with you carrying a magic wand in your tool box though Nick lol).

Thats terrible - your 'van is only 3 years old! This is what worries me about buying an English built caravan. Think we'll have to re-think and stick with Adria for our next 'van.

Hope its sorted quickly and conventiently for you but you shouldn't really have to be having this inconvenience, should you? Surely manufacturers can supply well built 'vans tht don't succum to being damp within 3 years?

Yes they can but they don't manufacture in the UK?

We have had 4 Baileys , never had damp with any of them. Must be the luck of the draw! One reason we changed  to the Pegasus was the 10 year warranty against damp.

We did have an Adria (bought new)back in the 80s which leaked, fixed it and sold it!

It should not happen with the cost of a new van, it will be covered under warranty so hope it is all sorted quickly.
