I've done this for the same reason, as there's sufficient room adjacent to the recess in the door for the EHU cable to pass both into the same compartment.
I had room in the section to fit one of these ...

From the back of this I ran a cable to the underseat area close to TV shelf so I can run to receiver when needed. From the outside, I easily connect the sat cable when required to this hidden socket, all suitably weatherproofed.
Just as a "PS" Rob, just think of periodically checking the 'F' connector on your cables. A fellow adjacent to me recently overlooked this & the plug had become loose, causing a short which damaged his receiver; the receiver outputs upto 18v to power the LNB on the dish.
I would reccomend the push on F connectors, uses the same cable, but an adaptor that screws on (99p on ebay) saves twisting the cable so less likly to be damaged (also alot quicker setting up).
