Hi all

looking for a bit of help again, we have had our van now for about 3 mths and i am a little puzzled as to the EHU.  Where we plug in it has a switch with 2 positions a mains and a 230v 2amp, which one do i put it on? the batt also does not seem to be charging so i was wondering if this could be the problem.  At the moment we have it on a seasonal pitch and last week i left it hooked up to see if the batt charged, the electric pannel has a small led onit which changes from green to ambe to red but after all week it is still on red.

Hope someone can help

Many thanks

Kev

Not sure what you're saying, is it the caravan end or the site electric plug in end.

At the caravan there should be a biggish blue socket like this:  http://www.caravanparts.co.uk/product_popup.php?cPath=53_239_199&products_id=606   It will probably have a hinged cover on it and may be in the battery compartment.

Notice its got pins not holes. That means it is a plug.Your mains lead will have similar with pins one end and holes the other. Plug the end with holes into the caravan socket and the other end into the site mains socket.

Sorry, it is in the caravan electric compartment where you hook up, at the side of the plug is the switch which has two positions mains and 230v 2amp this is where i am stuck , in side the van on the electric board where you turn the elecrics on is the led light that turns from red to amber to green which i presume tells you how much charge is left in the batt, hope you all know whati meen if i get up this weekend i will take some pictures and post

thanks

Have you checked the battery charger is switched on?

Mine has an on off switch, The main charger is fused and the link to the battery is also fused.

Check those.

I think the way the manufacturers have labeled this switch is confusing you - understandable in the confusing world of caravan electrics

The legend, ie Mains etc etc, just tells you that there is 230v at 2 amp electric present behind the switch panel. I would suspect that this is your battery charger and would need to be in the on position. Though why they can't put 'Battery Charger OFF ON' is beyond me.
