Hi all

just wondering if anyone knows of an alternative to hobby dealers when purchasing a part. i have been quoted £500 for a replacement table and there is no way i am paying that as it is not that big a deal for us.

Have you tried Ebay? or google caravan breakers. You might be able to pick up a bargain

I have a funny feeling I saw a hobby table on Ebay the other day...........

The trouble is the Hobby table is an integral part of the bed so it needs to be an original. Then of course you have to decide if you want to match the rest of the laminate in the van.

eBay is your best bet. If you are lucky and the seller doesn't know what he has you may get one for £50 buy it now otherwise the bidding can reach £150 - £200 very quickly

Is it the table that has broken? Or is it missing? You can get replacment table legs for caravans off ebay. If it was just plain wood then i'd say go to Wickes or similar and buy the wood you need and make one up yourself but if its the same as that one up there then...

I think you need to see one in the flesh to appreciate them, they are not just a free standing table but a part of the bed make up as well. There is nothing like them made outside of Germany as far as I know hence the high price for a new one and the pretty good resale value.

The only thing I've managed to buy in Wickes suitable for a caravan in the last 6 months has been polystyrene insulation boards (first of those broke into 3 pieces because of the wind outside

)

i saw that one on ebay but we only really want something to use when makeing up the bed not to use as a permanent fixture. i will keep looking as we are in no rush
