not a fan of adverts on tv btw,but its a surely a missed opportunity for the caravan companies not to have ads on the tv.maybe if they did they might get new people taking up caravanning or may just persuade people to go to dealerships to have a look where they might not normally do so.
I know they advertise in magazines etc but perhaps in the future we may see adverts for the latest swift or bailey thats just been released.

1: TV adverts are much more expensive than mag ads, and only work if you can afford an eye-catching and prolonged campaign.

2: Most British caravan manufacturers report very healthy order books.

3: Tourist authorities and the caravanning clubs report lots of new people taking up camping and caravanning.

All companies, caravan manufacturers or others, need to assess where their advertising budget is going to be most effective and I suspect, as yet, they don't think TV is the right place. I am think I am right in saying that a few years ago there was some television advertising of the generic sort advertising caravanning as a hobby, could have been under the umbrella of the NCC?

TV ads are far too expensive and generalised. Only a very small % of peeps have any interest (thank god) and advertising needs to be targeted.

i was talking to a sales guy at the show in January and he said it was too expensive to advertise and if cost were to rise then they might not be a showing at the show next year. can not remember the make.
