We've been given a sky satellite dish by my in-laws so I now need to buy a satellite receiver but dont know where to start, I've had a look on eBay and there's over 500 on there but I have no clue which ones will work and the prices really vary.

We've got a "proper" camping satellite kit we use that we tune into the astra satellite to get the free to air channels, I want to give the new dish to my parents and get them a receiver as a gift so need to make sure it's all compatible.

Thanks  I'll have a look for something along those lines, that one hasn't got the remote with it.

I wasn't sure if a sky box was the same thing as a free to air satellite receiver.

 Hi have a look on ebay for a easyfind sat reciever they have a led on the LNB which

 flashes red till your near the satellite then amber when your nearer and finally green when your bang on it sure saved me a lot of hassle and fed up looks from her indoors priced around £ 90.00 on ebay, search for easyfind satellite reciever its

the best £90 quid ive spent in a long time. PS the lnb comes with the reciever for that price.

 I have just checked ebay for this item and Sat scene are selling them for £70.00

item no 330442913617  in my opinion a bargain.
