What are you using to test the noseweight? Most of the gauges are rubbish.

Seen a guy at the caravan storage use a tall yellow one, All i heard was "that cant be right" then as he wound the jockey wheel back down it fell to pieces.

i have a professional calibrated load test unit that i use for work .

we are going to try agian today by spreading the load over the floor and hopefully finding the corect pivot point which i thinks is just past the first axle,failing that its off to buy a cheap 4x4 to tow with any ideas for around £1500

i can`t see it being the car as our wyoming was dead level and the noseweight was always spot on

A friend of mine used to tow with an XJ6, he reckoned it was only the length of overhang behind the rear axle & the fuel consumpton that ruined it as a tow car. I wouldn't think the spring assistors would be worth a try if only to make the rear end sit up a bit. There was a thread on here recently bout noseweights & it was suggested the noseweight reduced when the van was loaded, it may be worth a try. I could be in the same boat as you, we sold our L200 last week & will be towing with the Espace again. I don't want to be buying another 4x4 just to tow the caravan, I'm afraid ours will have to go if we have problems.
