Our 2006 Senator Arizona is now due its annual service. As it is now 4 years old it is no longer covered by the 3 year manufacturer's warranty but it is still covered by the Bailey 6 year "Body Shell Integrity Guarantee".
Do I have to use a Bailey authorised service centre for the annual service or is a NCC recognised workshop acceptable? I appreciate that any remedial work under the "Body Shell Guarantee" would have to be carried out by a Bailey authorised workshop - what about the annual service and inspection.
The reason I ask is that I am thinking of using a mobile workshop - he is NCC authorised but not Bailey authorised. I have used a Bailey agent for previous years.
I agree with Zafiral. You need to check this out with Bailey. If the issue is that you wish to have a mobile workshop, you can get mobile people who are Bailey approved.
We were loading ours when the Caravan doc came past. He stopped and gave us his card. As he's an approved agent and cheaper than the dealer, we'll use him for our services.
We did have another caravan mobile man, who came to give us a quote on a new rear window (done under insurance). We never saw him again, so we won't be chosing him!
I had already planned to phone Bailey and did so this morning. The Bailey helpline confirmed that as long as the service was carried by an NCC Authorised Workshop that was enough for the warranty/guarantee purposes. If any work needed doing under the warranty or guarantee it WOULD, of course, be necessary to go to a Bailey authorised workshop.
I will, therefore, be using A1 Mobile Caravan Services of Warrington. He is a similar price to the Bailey authorised workshop I have used previously but without the need for the time and cost of 2 return journeys (10 miles each way) to my previous workshop.
Anthony of Al came out yesterday to repair my motor mover on behalf of Powrtouch and I was impressed with his efficient and thorough approcah to this job.
We're very wary of mobiles. We've had three mobiles service our vans over the years. The first was here 55 minutes. We never used him again. The second wasn't even here that long & we've never used him again. The third, what a cracking man he's turned out to be, he was here over 4 hours the first time he serviced our old van & he was disgusted at what he found. In his opinion the caravan had never been serviced. Considering the first two services were done in the supplying dealers workshops I wasn't best pleased. The same man cared for our caravan for the remaining maintenance on it for the rest of it's time here & we kept that van 12 seasons.
He knows our van is under warranty & is aware he'll be back on the case as soon as it's possible.
