HI all , not sure if this is the correct forum for this question but here goes, we will be travelling from fleetwood down to the tunnel on sat 10th july, leaving at around 6am in the morning, what route would you all suggest is the best way to go?
Friend of mine, a HGV driver based near Southport, who visits Ashford regularly, goes M6, M1 M25anti clockwise M26, M20. He reckons the M6 J11-J4 isn't as congested on a Saturday morning as the rest of the week, but you could use the M6 toll road instead and avoid it altogether.

living just of the m25 down here, would suggest really m6-m6 toll-m1-m25 clockwise, ova bridge then m20 straight thro to tunnel.
worth paying tolls on m6 and bridge,as traffic can get snarled up between j21 and j14 on m25,due to roadworks!!
might get some traffic ova toll bridge but it does move pretty well.suggest break at norton keynes services on toll road, room to park and stretch your legs, then nother stop just before bridge.
Sack cloth and ashes time. Just rang Dan, he's not working today, to ask him why he goes anti-clockwise on the M25 when all suggestions are for clockwise. "because I have a "drop" near Woking on that run" was his answer.
