Am I correct in assuming that snow on caravan roofs for prolonged periods has no adverse effect on the caravan roof.?

I can't say for all caravans but we didn't suffer any problems over the winter with the snow and we had it parked for the winter season at a campsite so wouldn't have been able to clear it daily anyway.

Last year was probably the worst for ages and I didn't have any problem. Cover the fire vent with a carrier bag just in case some melting snow falls through

If you can leave it parked with the nose down low at the front, so when it starts to melt it runs off quickly. Might sound odd but a very level caravan can collect even rain water on its roof and puddle. The weight of snow on a level roof may cause some sagging and pooling.

The snow can also damage the aerial the c- club said yonks ago to put a shopping basket over the aerial to keep the snow off.

Failing that send  the 3 year old up the sweep the snow off

We have used our caravan in the Alps for over 30 years - never had a problem. This year we have had snow in our village from before Christmas till (admittedly a small amount) 4 weeks ago - once again no problem. Caravans are designed to be used outdoors - can't see why snow would be a problem?
