Hi, first time we stayed out for seven nights and the beds are very hard. I think I need an extra 2" minimum of something underneath or over the top for extra padding.
Does anyone have any experience of this or can suggest a remedy. I thought of mattress toppers, which might well work, but also wondered if it would be worth the extra cost of having some expanded foam or similar cut to size.
Thanking in advance for any replies!-------------

I would have thought self inflating camping mats on top would do the job.

Try using two Duvets, and use a 13.5 tog quilt underneath. The quilts just wrap up together and fit in a bedding box, and you will find it much softer and pleasanter.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

We use a topper on our fixed bed.Had to cut a corner off. To lessen weight we bought a cheap foam mattress from IKEA.------------- Mister G

Duvet instead of a bottom sheet works for us, and easier to make the bed too. A kingsize duvet covers our front double bed completely------------- Debbie

Thanks for all your ideas and remedies for the problem.
Don't think a duvet will do the job, as I slept on top of my very thick sleeping bag last time out and it wasn't good enough. Maybe four would have been better!
I have two egg box toppers already, so I'm going to try them first. have also emailed a chap on fleabay for cut-to-size foam x 3" depth - will report back on that re price.
I have a back problem which makes life difficult, and have often felt like the princess in the 'Princes and the Pea' fairy story!-------------

everyone who has bed toppers likes them,i do not have one because i fear there is no where to put it during the day.
I was thinking of putting mine underneath the beds, then just flipping them over to sleep on, or covering them and just leaving them on top!-------------
