I fitted these the other day and it's really easy - see my post above for the instructions. (They are more detailed in the packet) Half an hour to dismantle, reassemble and refit a pair.

Mine weren't in a packet, just a polybag - no instructions, which I thought was a bit odd.
How do you get the pin out? On mine, the pin is slightly shorter than the length of the hole so nothing to get hold of.
Previous poster says , they told him hit it with a hammer to crack the existing plastic bit ..
These are not the same type as I need for the autostays , as there is no pin ,I have emailed jacksons and a few others , to see if i can get what I need without replacing the whole thing.

The locks are supplied with instructions but to reassure you they are very easy to fit, this is how it is done. As the originals are very brittle, with the knob removed and on a firm surface, give it a sharp tap with a hammer to crack it, but taking care not to distort the tube. Remove any remaining parts and the location pin with pliers or similar. Push on the new lock taking care to align the pin hole. Important. Be sure to insert the sliding rod before tapping in the new pin.
