I am looking for help with a query from fellow Bailey Olympus owners.
Do all your window catches face the same way?
The right hand window catch on the right hand widow on the front window as you look at it from the inside faces up on mine and all the rest face down or across in the same direction.
It looks very odd and have been told this is the way it is ment to be.
Hi soverein, dont have same van,but it sounds like you have wrong handle for that side,by the sounds of it you need a left hand side handle on the right hand side of window to make the handle face down when closed and face to left of window when in the open position. On my van all the window handles half way up window face down, and all the bottom handles face towards each other. if that makes any sense to you. may have been the only handle available at time of being fitted. hope that helps.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
I have just visited a Pegasus 546 on the sales pitch and it looked to me that there are two strut/supports on the front windows, however, I have also been advised that they may have been changed for 'lightness'. I have spoken to Bailey about these and they tell me that there is now only one and also confirmed the upside down
catch is factory fitted. (they did start out with two but changed to one)
though i spoke to a member of the Bailey Owners club and he told me his van is the same, but that Rydales had (or were going to) sort it for him.
Yes our is the same we are taking it in next week for a few other problems. Split shelf in rear cupboard. One of the window blind frames is coming away from the window. We have a screw that is almost through into the interior coming from outside. And we have a problem that the screw covers on the blind systems keep dropping off, so its not just one or two of them but most. Its a few teething problems but to be honest they should be put right at the time of the PDI.
Let me know how you get on as ours is going in next Friday and I want to know if it is a lazy error in manufacture or is standard
The Olympus 464 we collected on Saturday also has the upsidedown catch on the right side front window. There is only one strut on both outer front windows and on the small side window next to the entrance door. I commented on the upsidedown catch to the salesman and he said that they are all like that now. He said that the removal of the window struts was to reduce weight and to cut costs!! I personally think the upsidedown catch looks daft and told him so. If Bailey won't change the catch under warranty, which I assume they won't as they say that is how it should be, I will buy the correct catch when it becomes available and get my OH to fit it.
Hi. Yes I was told the lock is always that way. Our van went in and they have taken photos of the screw that is almost coming through from the outside wall and sending off to Bailey for their comments. Personally I dont know what they will do apart from put in a new panel if thats at all possible. The other minor tgings have been put right apart from the split cupboard shelf which is now on order.
I have been waiting weeks for the side cushions for the arms in lounge area and they still havent arrived . Does anyone else have this problem. I have been told that its the upholsterers that are not sending them out?
all my cshions arrived, but some of my cushions are too short, so they always fall over. the ones in my old Pageant were always slightly oversized so they stayed firm.
I have taken photos which have been send to Bailey's and will send them in after the Summer to be replaced (as i am told it will take 3+ weeks).
I am quite annoyed really as it is taking so long. we keep phoning as does a friend who has not had her cushions and keep being told that Bailey are on to it.
