We have an Abbey Aventura 330 with end bunks. We found that 3 spotlights, 1 centre roof light and the outside light (by the door) aren't working. I have checked the fuses, they are ok, does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?
Best to use a multimeter to check the continuity of the wiring, probably a bad connection somewhere.
I had a weird problem a few years ago when the lights worked first time and then just went out. It turned out that the copper core of the wire had corroded and was giving a high resistance. So there was continuity, but even so the lights didn't work due to the resistance of the copper core. In the end I had to rewire the circuit and all was well.
The van is 4 year old. We have tried changing all the bulbs, and the strange thing is this happened a few months ago but they started working again on their own!
Hi tracey70, Had same problem, lights would work ok, next time they were switched on they would not work, turned out to be corroded earth(white) wire and lose conection on to the main earth terminal, but all my lights did not work, check state of battery, if ok, the go for lose or broken wire on that set of lights, very posabily the earth wire lose conection.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
they will all be on the same circuit, so check the connections at the fuse box, when I got mine, all appreard to be ok, but when I removed and re-made the connection, it turned out there were oly a couple of strands holding the cable in, and they were corroded, cleaned it up, hey presto
