Greetings,

We have just treated ourselves to a new Lunar Lexon SE.

In our last van I changed all the spotlights and overhead lights to LED's as we frequently go to sites without EHU.

I've tried to get into the spotlights of the new van without suceeding in getting to the bulb innards.

Has anyone found out how to 'dismantle' these bulbs and if so, what is the correct way.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi I purchased 10 of these of of ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-10-pcs-12V-G4-6-SMD-LED-Warm-White-Light-Bulb-Lamp-/330450730055?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_HomeGarden_Lighting_Lamps_Lighting_SM&hash=item4cf065fc47 they are the equivalent of the 10 watt halogens used in my Lunar Delta and give out a good light
I bench tested one before I fitted them on a test bench at work using a regulated power supply and a lux meter and they reach maximum brightness ant 8 volts and I left it running 27 volts overnight to test the voltage regulators reliability and it was fine at £2.50 I am well impressed.
The lamps on the Delta came off by inserting a screw driver in the small aperture at the base and giving it a twist.

AsAbove But I used finger nails, it took me ages to fathom them out as they are tight.. I replaced the capsules this weekend with 24led cluster (warm white) supposed to be = to 10watts.

I found no differance in light though about 1/2 a shade warmer.

I got mine  www.pennylaneelectrical.co.uk

Steve,

Thanks for your answer. Can you elaborate on exactly which bulbs you bought.

The ones suggested by sdrew (above) were G4's and will not fit the spotlights I have.

Regards

I changed all my lights to leds. As someone else mentioned there are warm  and cool lights. I put the cool ones in kitchen and bathroom(brighter light) and warm ones in lounge and bedroom (more subdued light). I got mine from a firm called Aten lighting- they are in Melton Mowbray. They have a stand at most major shows, but there mail order is very good. I would resist buying cheap leds, you get what you pay for. Aten only supply quality leds. You know the old saying- buy cheap- buy twice
