ive done a daft thing! was in a bit of a rush packing the van up to come home at the weekend,i went to empty the toilet thetford casette, when i went to slide it back would only go part way, then realised,id left the valve open in toilet ,and know this should always be closed, now cant get casette back in,can anyone help with what to do,hope to god ive not completley knackered it,i was just getting into caravanning and really enjoying it
I've done a similar thing,Do as previous poster(?) suggests and slide lid closed on cassette as well and it should go back in. If you feel it jamming have a good look inside and see what is jamming it. I doubt you have broken anything, probably just needs synchronising with all the catches, etc.
Hi wiganer, after checking toilet blade is closed inside van, check that the sliding blade on the cassette is in the proper way, that is when blade is in closed position the little green arrows on the blade and the cassette top, are lined up faceing each other, other wise it will not go back in, maybe you took it off when cleaning and replaced it wrong way round.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
Hi again, forgot to add, that the relese knob on the cassette needs to be in line faceing into van12 O'clock to 6 O'clock position, from waste outlet pipe it is on the right hand side near the slideing blade, hope this helps

thanks for your help i did as you said and had put the sliding blade in wrong,it then went straight back in ,i know it sounds daft but do you normally have the toilet blade open or closed in van when using the loo,i now know it needs closing to remove casette.

Hi, You can use it any way you want, in closed position, then open blade and close, or open when useing then close when finnished, It must allways be in closed position when removeing the cassette, glad you got it fixt.
