Don't know....but would like to know as I've just been to help my dad re-erect his awning in Abersoch, when it collapsed it was pushing against metal shelving that has put a deep groove in the side of the van.
They have been going there for 40 odd years and never known winds like it ( 84mph recorded)
Hi, have same, few grooves in mine, been there for some time, mine cant be taken out,as bonded to insulation, could replace panel,or just fill and spray. look in the repair and fix section on this site should find a lot of help.

I also had the same problem, 2 bad dents down the side of the caravan, I claimed from my insurers (E&L) for storm damage and they approved a new side on the van within 2 weeks...
Just a little add on for this subject.I had to have both sides of my van reskinned.bottom & top panel on 1 side because it was the bottom panel damaged,& the top panel on the other side. This adds 38KG to the van MIRO.
Plus the finish is not the best, the sides seem to be rippled in the sunlight due to the skins.
if the sides of my van were of the smooth type I think it would be much better to have been filled & resprayed.at least this could have been corrected if the colour ever mis matches in the future
Hi, i was thinking if van is not under warranty, could use a car body filler, give van rub with fine wet an dry emery paper to make good ground for filler, fill and rub smooth, go to local paint store get them to match van colour and make you up spray can, spray van when hot or warm, could do this by useing hair dryer to gently heat the area to be painted,as makes better paint finish.

We had the same problem when our awning poles caused a number of dents in our Bailey in high winds last November. Our service agent suggested a claim for a new side which was nearly £7,500. This is £500 more than the value of the van. We got a quote from a car body repair centre who can do the repair for £650 plus paint. That is more of an issue as Bailey tell me that the paint colour is non British standard Magnolia and it is only available in a touch up stick from your local dealer.

We had this with the van we traded in earlier this year lost about £400 on the trade in as that was the rough cost of specialist repair, we'd never had it insured learnt a valuable lesson.
It had been filled but wasn't a good repair I'd definitely phone the insurance.
