I dont know if anyone else has mentioned this but if you get no joy from Bailey talk to The Financial Ombudsmen, the also will cover the sale of faulty goods / warranty's. Found them to be really helpfull in the past and even got a insurance company to cough up some dough!! As everyone says make sure you write down every contact you have with your dealer/Bailey and even record the times when they don't ring you back. Good Luck and keep fighting! ............................Ooops should have read the last few posts.... Well done you!!
Yes we have taken delivery of our new van and it is much better thank goodness!!! It's not perfect, there are a couple of small cosmetic faults and although I don't think that any faults should be acceptable they aren't bad enough to worry about so the dealer will attend to them when I want to book the van in. I still have the wonky patterned upholstery but a new set of cushions is on order. The shower door in the new van is a completely different style and much better quality so not likely to split any time soon. Most importantly there are no lumps under the lino!! This van was manufactured much more recently than our first and the build quality and finish is far better.
So all in all I am a happy bunny and we will be off for our maiden voyage on Thursday.........can't wait!!
I'm so glad that we rejected the first van, i know that I would never have been happy if we had agreed to have it repaired.
Have been saving up to treat ourselves to the 2011 Bailey olympus but having read these reports am unsure now!! Does anyone know if there is any other fixed bed models that are under 1,340 fully laden?
Hi Sara, Its regrettable you had to go through that in the first place, a lot of your problems with the van seam to be down to very poor workman ship, and sloppy quality control, and a reluctance to do anything about it when something goes wrong, you pay good hard earned money for goods, and when you get crap goods, and expect you to accept it, then they try and palm you off all because the cant be bothered to sort it out, now that they have got your money, and their fat commission. You were right to reject van, and go to Trading Standards. Be Picky it’s your cash you are parting with. Very glad you got it sorted out, don’t let the dealer slide with the rest of your replacements, and Congratulations enjoy your new van. Good Luck.

This all happened almost exactly a year ago now. All was well until we went on our maiden voyage with our replacement van, we managed to get 500yds down the road and the nearside wheel fell off!! We hadn't even managed to get out of the village! It was repaired on our insurance (NFU who were a complete nightmare to deal with when we tried to claim and get the van repaired). Eventually the repairs were completed and we finally got away in our van for the first time in April 2011! That's 9months after we purchased it! We have been away a couple of more times since. However the bad luck seems to be continuing, we took our van in for its first service a couple of weeks ago. We dropped it off at the dealers one Saturday and collected it the next. Upon collection I noticed that the door had some damage where it seemed that someone had attempted to break into the van by levering the door next to the lock. The door was bent and so was the door frame. The front bumper was also split where it appeared someone had stepped on it to look through the window. Turns out that some travellers had broken in one night and damaged several caravans, they were particularly stealing mattresses from fixed bed models, luckily they hadn't actually gained entry to our van. The dealer knew there had been a break in but but hadn't realised that our van had been damaged.
Hi Sara, You sound as though you are disenchanted with the van, I know how you feel, I have a new car like that seams to be accident prone, getting hit with trolleys, cars scraping it when its in car parks, have had tailgate badly dented once, rear tail light broken twice, drivers front wing and door dented, then the rear passenger door dented, and all while parked, it has been a very unlucky car to me, now decided to get rid of it in February, don’t think I would have had as much damage if I had entered it into the demolition derby, I do hope things take a turn for the better, if not it may be time to think of exchanging the van( last resort as you could loose a lot though) only you can decide if that is an option, that would make you more at with another van, lets hope every thing gets sorted to your satisfaction, good luck to you, you deserve some.
