I am having a mover fitted to my Bordeaux in a couple of weeks and wondered if anyone could tell me where the fitter will most likely fit the controls so that I can clear the van and give him good access.

Not to far from the battery box inside the van I would say.

On our Bailey 460/4 the controllers Master Switch went in the battery box belows the mains socket. The main control unit was mounted on the floor under the seating adjacent to the fuse box with the aerial wire going through a vent in the floor.

In the Bordeaux the wardrobe and heater is directly behind the battery box with one small cupboard at floor level. I presume the control unit could go at the back of there but there's not much room.

The wardrobe & heater in our 460/4 Ranger is also directly behind the battery box. I think thats why they mounted it under the floor under the left front seat.

On our Ranger 460/2 its screwed to the floor in the under-seat locker behind the battery box. Not ideal as it's not supposed to be covered by bedding and the like when in use so that's something else to think about when pitching/leaving if that area is full.

I had it fitted a few weeks ago (following a recent heart-attack and orders NEVER EVER to heave a caravan again). It seems a good choice although I have yet to fully use it. Only trip out since was a rare visit to a CC site where it was drive on/drive off. I don't really need it at home either. I resisted the temptation to give it a lap around the site.

Going to a few CLs in coming weeks and will surely need it then...

In my Bordeauux the panel was stuck with double sided tape to the back of the battery box (below the wardrobe floor).

There is plenty of room for it but it soon slid down and was hanging from it's cables so I screwed it to the back of the battery box. Fine afterwards.
