We checked the noseweight of our van in its storage spot & it was lower than we expected it to be. Our storage space is on a slight backward incline. Would this affect the reading (we'd assumed the van would balance on it's axle)?

What you describe would naturally make the lateral cente of gravity of the van move and give a lighter than normal noseweight reading.

To get an accurate noseweight it must be on level ground.

Thanks for that. It's only a slight incline but we suspected it was skewing the reading. We'll just have to pull it forward a few feet onto level ground.
