Funnily enough, I saw today the first instance of a rear mounted back rack that had been bolted to the rear of a Bailey Pageant something-or-other.

Interesting, wonder if the guys on here.

Put the bikes on the roof it would be alot safer and easier.

Back and shoulder problems, besides a RR/rails and bike rack....no way.

It fits on to the swan neck and allows me to tow the van.

Had a trial with one of these, very good design but just not enough room for three bikes and a good turning circle.

The only reason I wanted to go with the tow ball at the rear of the van is because I already have the rack and cycle carrier. It's the best invention I have seen for ages. I used the rack yesterday to take an old cooker to the recycle dump and tomorrow I shall take an old carpet.

I called the tech staff today and told him of my idea, he was dead against it but said there is no reason why it shouldn't work with my set-up. Now who's good at welding on here Lol.

thanks again for all your input, I wish I could put smilies on here.

Slightly confused here, as wouldn't putting bikes on the swan neck be taking up noseweight? That might be dodgy on some outfits.

Also remember the bike rack on a Bailey as there was one model which was reinforced enough to cope, but I remember it had to be discontinued for safety and the pendulum effect.

Well that's it then, think I will now knock it on the head and look for some sheets of foam and put the bikes in the van.

Thanks again for all your views on this.

yea but not with my outfit.........well not at the moment anyway, might be different with a bigger van next year.

Most (real) 4x4s, including the Range Rover have a max nose-weight of 150Kgs while most caravans chassis have a max nose-weight of 100Kgs giving you 50Kgs to play with, with a tow hitch mounted bike rack - if, of course, you have the room between tug and van
