Hi just joined and new to this caravaning lark. We have a 4 Berth Abi Jubilee with a Pyramid Awning. We spent a week in wales last week had no problems erecting the awning. But when it rained there was a puddle of water at each corner of the awning. We had tucked the flaps under the groundsheet but am not quite sure what to do around the poles and caravan side however secure and close together i got the flaps rain still seemed to leak in. Any tips would be appreciated Thanks Cathy

If it was a new awning it *might* have been rain coming in through the peg loops Once it's been up for a while the cotton in them seems to swell and they seal up but they leak a bit to start with.

The awning is newish came with the van. The previous owner said it had been up three times before. Isuppose its all trail and error to start with to get to no how to place the mud flaps so they keep the rain out.

Some new awnings are not wholly waterproofed and need to have the seams proofed so spraying them with a relevant product may assist. It may be something as simple as the lie of the land. Last week in Wharfedale it rained so hard that the flow of the water down the site road ran onto our pitch and under the awning due to the contours of the site. Fortunately we had a carpet down which soon dried.
