Thanks for the advice and info - muchly appreciated! I'm no way able to afford one yet, unless it is mega cheap! But watch this space, the seed is sewn and I'm arming myself with knowledge for hopefully early next year!
We have a 2 berth that we got for a grand - it's great...it's not fancy but just had a great week away with us, 8yo and 2 dogs all sleeping on the big front bed and it feels very luxurious compared to the tent (and we didn't rough it!). I suppose it depends on how much of your own space you need. Awning is a very useful addition for wet coats, dogs etc, plus separating chatting adults from sleeping kids.
Our storage is only £140/year and has decent security (cctv, v high hedges, 15foot ditch with a burn and a couple of very fierce looking dogs!).
We've only been away twice and I can't even imagine not having a caravan now (even with a lottery win I'd still fancy a swanky campervan!)
I would like a swanky campervan if I could also take a car to use when I'm there! But I suppose if I'd won the lottery, that would be no problem
I need to look into the storage issue, since I don't even have a drive, never mind a big one! But £140 sounds fine to me - £400 less fine I must admit.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
