I'm now completely confused.
I always understood that the online booking system for Caravan Club was up to date with availability, and due to my bad planning, have been awaiting eagerly for a cancellation for upcoming August BH weekend.
Having read some of the comments on this forum suggesting this wasn't the case, I rang my preferred site on the off-chance to check and was completely taken aback when the warden said yes they still had availability (several pitches in fact) and when would I like to book for!!
Considering I have been looking at the online booking system for at least the last fortnight, and it the online system has consistently been stating it is full, I explained this to the warden who (sympathetically) informed me that any cancellations go to the warden first before they get updated on the system (which I didn't quite understand the logic off, but there you go). She said that the site can reallocate them to direct callers before the website then gets re updated overnight.
I'm completely confused now as the CC HQ told me the website was completely up to date and I have since checked it out with another warden for another booking and was told the same thing. Interestingly, when I now look at my online bookings for the previously full sites, I can see the site is showing as available on a number of dates in August, whereas before when I logged in it was showing as completely full and blocked out in red.
I need to go and have a lie down as I think I must be seeing things!
