glass windows give you pre 78, in 77 it was made mandatory for glass to be toughened, so most manufacturers swapped to a plastic 78 onwards.
does it have auto reverse brakes? if not definatly pre 77, (IIRC)
nice looking van, still got it??

Hi, No auto reverce brake, flicked over the stop leaver on draw bar, No after rebuild used it for about 6months and OH decided she did'nt want to caravan,so sold it to  a couple who went on country western weekends they loved it,I put a lot of work into that van, preserved all the timber through out van,bet its still going,if it has been looked after, the van actualy looks better in the photo that i have, photo all fuzzy and rgainy, maybe should have kept her and sold OH,because one year after sold van,OH decided she wanted to get a van again, only one thing is predictible about a woman,is that she is unpredictible(no offence intended to all the fairer sex).

I would certain put it into the 70's, and prior to 79 when plastic windows became mandatory.

One clue is the tall gas locker to accommodate the 'new' 6 & 7kg bottles, 60's and early 70's would have a shorter one,
However, I know one guy was making the lockers and selling them for the after market, damn expensive though!

Hi, A bit comfused now as the hub caps had ACE embossed on them, and dont think they wre taken off since new,by the trouble i had to get them off, the chassis was all steel, and plate said ACE could not read the rest of plate, it only had sink, hob, grill, cupboard, new fridge(scrap), and cupboard on left as you enter door at the wheel arch, the two beds and a copboard inbetween them, no wardrobe.no eletrics, no loo, and it had gas mantel lights, still got a spare one some were in box,new fridge cost me more than the van,3way fridge £370 back then, dont remember how many berths it had,but came across a photo of 4 of the family at the Ellis caravan site in Arbroath, and the notes i took of the advert when i bought it. ( ACE 10ft tourer 3/4 berth Guarenttee No Leaks No Damp New fridge 12V + Gas AC hook up Fully equiped £300 the sellers mame and phone number,)

Ye Right!!!!, Fully equiped, with damp, AC hook up, ok if not pluged in, New Fridge,ye when adam was milk boy.the only thing I had to do to this van was to Totaly re-build from chassis. mind you loved it after re-build.

It is an Ace, either a Globetrotter or a Pioneer (depending on the rear bunk set up), dates from somewhere between 1967 and 1970.

Hi, Gas box only took the small dumpy bottles, (though one in photo i added),  original had two small recesses in box( had the bigger size one up and did not fit), roof had 4 aluminium panels, the sides had 3, top, middle, and bottom, rear had 2 panels, wish i could find the rest of photos of the re-build as there might have been tell tail signs of the model, you never know they may turn up, as did 5 of them two days ago hence this post, photo i have is much clearer than it is when uploaded and cant see any plate may have been hidden by battery box.

Hi IanM, the globetrotter rings a bell, bunk beds at rear one table two seats, and two poles and stretcher type canvas that fitted across van half way up rear window, made small cupboard on the left (as you enter van) into a wardrobe where AC hook up fitted, fridge, hob, sink faced you as you entered van.

I'm sure its an ACE Pioneer.  Looks just the same as one we used to hire for several years from someone local.  We stopped hiring it when things started dropping off it!

From an old 83 Glasses Guide, the Pioneer is listed under so a variation of the Globetrotter, 1966 on, 4B centre kitchen
The note reads, 1966/76, 1978 Pioneer 1 Double and two Single beds, valued similarly

Chassis would have been by B&B

Hi Jenny, when I bought mine bits fell off of it right down to chassis, after re-build nothing fell off, wonder if it is still around somewhere.
