normally your car insurance covers you third party if the van hits any one.If the van is damaged and it's your fault you pay to get it fixed,if it's stolen then you lose everything
...and its contents........and you may find Green Flag (or similar) breakdown cover of benefit.....

Costs to consider inc initial payment unless you are paying in instalments on a loan. Insurance- mine is £60 from CC. Storage to pay if its not going in the garden, and - once the service was £700 as its old and needed work on the gas pipes etc etc. We have had it 3 years and probably are only now thinking along the lines that its now paid for. But I do love it and love that its in the garden so I can look at it/sit in it anytime.
We used to use a trailer tent and changed to a caravan for the following reasons:-
1. Beds are more comfortable; Many times we had to come home early because I was in agony with my back or neck. Never had this problem with the caravan.
2. Weather. Having a caravan won't change the weather, but you don't have to worry about drying it out or packing up wet.
You really don't want to go for a 2 berth. Even if two of you sleep in the awning, you will find sitting around the table cramped too. With a 4 berth, you can still sleep 2 in the awning if you want and won't have to worry about putting beds up.
